What is a Project Site Leader?

Project Site Leaders (PSL) act as the liaison between SJP Director/Committees and volunteers. Being a PSL is a great way to get more involved in SJP Day, to develop and hone leadership skills, and to make an impact in the city of San Jose. Every Project Site location is expected to have at least one PSL for every 10-15 volunteers.

In order to become a Project Site Leaders you must attend 2 mandatory PSL meetings.

1) The first meeting will be held at a TBD location and will last up to an hour. We will offer this meeting on 2 different dates, you have the option of attending either meeting. The dates are also TBD but will generally take place 2 to 3 weeks before San Jose Project Day.

2) The second meeting will be held at the registration site on San Jose Project Day.  The meeting time is TBD.

Project Site Leaders are responsible for:

  • Communicating with volunteers prior to SJP Day
  • Fostering a sense of teamwork at their site
  • Supervising volunteers
  • Answering volunteer’s questions
  • Tracking attendance
  • Communicating with Directors/committees with allocating lunches
  • Passing out and collecting “post-survey”
